People these days don't trust anyone. Everyone seems suspicious in one way or another. Don't deny it, it is completely true! We are all taught not to talk to strangers and be very careful of those around you because you don't know what type of person they are. That is amazing advice. That advice can keep you alive. Now you might be thinking: well, this quote basically contradicts what you just said. That's true, it does. I think it means what it means, but the people you trust are somewhat... filtered in a way. I'm not saying go trust the random people walking by in the mall. I'm saying try trusting the people who have been filtered for you (i.e. coworkers, members of a committee or club or group you are in, small groups of people you are associated in some way with, etc). Anything within a smaller group is a good place to start. Be trusting. Start small, though. But trust. And find out if you can trust them by trusting them. If something goes wrong... give them another chance (depending on how bad it was). If that goes wrong, maybe try finding a different trustworthy person. Trust is a difficult skill to know how to use properly in this day and time, so learn it and use it to your advantages.
