Quote of the day

Something incredibly important in communicating with someone else is understanding both sides of the conversation. This means both what you can hear them saying to you, and also the stuff that can't be heard. You need to watch and pay attention because sometimes facial expressions or silences followed by certain looks might be implying that the conversation really needs to stop. But also watch for certain looks or actions that might tell you that they have had a bad day or the topic is sensitive. Certain looks can really help when finding words to use. If you are a good person, you will take their expressions and shape the conversation so that it doesn't hit any little bruises or patches. But it is incredibly important to hear what isn't said in communicating. Sometimes, looks or actions are more powerful than words themselves.
