Your parents and family are the people you are around the most. They are the people that train you. Most likely, if you do something at home around your parents, you do it around others too. So if a parent allows their child to be disrespectful, then the child will never learn fully to be respectful. So the child will never have true and full respect for anything, because that is not what they grew up learning. And respect is incredibly important, doesn't everyone love to be respected? So respect others, and learn to respect.
